Join me on a quick 6 hour adventure in New York City
There’s nothing quite like the energy of New York City! Recently, I had the chance to spend a whirlwind 6 hours in the Big Apple, and while it was a quick visit, I made the most of every moment. From a few iconic sights to hidden gems, here’s how our family spent a half day with food, culture and unforgettable experiences.
The National September 11 Memorial
Our very first stop was The National September 11 Memorial. To say the experience was sobering is an understatement. The memorial is located at 180 Greenwich St, New York, NY. It was quite surreal.
Charging Bull
Our next stop was Charging Bull or also known as the Bull of Wall Street. The stunning sculpture weighs in at 7,100 pounds. It stands at 11 feet tall and is a symbol of financial optimism.
FAO Schwarz
No trip to New York City is complete without a visit to FAO Schwarz! The iconic toy store is every bit as whimsical as I imagined. I may or may not have taken home two plushies, ha-ha.
Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum
I am on a mission to visit every Madame Tussaud’s in the US. There are five and this is the second for me. Next will be Europe! This location was 5 floors and took an hour to see everything. Get your tickets online to save at www.madametussauds.com
The Times Square Ball
Fun fact I never knew – The Times Square Ball, which is located on the roof of One Times Square, sits out all year! I was thrilled to see it in person. One day, I hope to see it drop from the very spot we stood.
This trip was a dream come true, albeit lightning fast. New York City is a place I would definitely revisit and stay a bit longer!
