Plants

Our growing collection of plants

When I met my boyfriend, I had a budding collection of plants. My house has tons of natural light while his is a cavernous cave. When I moved into his place, one by one my plants withered away due to the environment change and lack of light. He said not to worry, as we would get more to replace what was lost. Little did I know he would take my plant hobby and run with it!

We painted the sitting room where the plants would be a lovely white shade to allow for more light. We slowly started adding more and more plants. More plants meant grow lights and plant stands. We found a nursery near us that we love. Their prices are not only great, but they are also incredibly friendly, and the selection of plants can’t be beat.

This here is an aloe that I named Ursula. I love how the planter mimics a shell, also. I thought the name to be fitting. Fun fact – The Little Mermaid was the first movie I saw in theaters, too. Aloe plants don’t require much watering being they supply much of their own moisture within their thick leaves.

This here is my favorite plant, the Pink Princess Philodendron. I found this baby on Etsy. I’ve had it almost a year and it has thrived. Needless to say, I’m thrilled because I have never bought a live plant online and you don’t know what you’re getting or if it will survive. Philos love to climb so I would recommend adding moss poles or bamboo sticks. We found ours on Amazon. They can also be found at your local plant store.

This is a Majesty Palm. It’s so beautiful how the fronds grow and open. Nature surely is a thing of beauty to behold.
